Outdoorsman: Arrow of Light Required Adventure

This is a required adventure used to earn the Arrow of Light Badge. I decided to complete  Option A: Requirement A1:  With the help of your den leader of family, plan and participate in a campout. This summer I went camping with my pack at Point Lookout.  (6/3/2017) Requirement A2:  On arrival at the campout, with your den and den leader or family, determine where to set up your tent. Demonstrate knowledge of what makes a good tent site and what makes a bad one. Set up your tent without help from an adult. We arrived a day after the pack arrived. Two of my friends had already set up a tent. Mr. Jim said that if I could get them to break it down and get them to help me set it back up then I could get this marked off. So my friends helped me take the tent down and we worked together to set it back up. Complete Requirements 1-4 and at least two others. 1. State the safety precautions you need to take before doing any water activity. (7/27/2017) * Reviewed my handbook and with my mom. I first learned the safety precautions at Point Lookout with my Pack. (6/3/2017) Scouts must follow Safe Swim Defense and Safety Afloat. Safety Afloat is for boating. My Den Leader told us to remember PDQBALLS. Remember to always follow PDQBALLS ! Physical Fitness Has to be cleared to swim by a physician, parent, or legal guardian.  Discipline Scouts should respect and follow all directions and rules of the adult supervisor.  Qualified Supervision All swimming activity must be supervised by a mature and conscientious adult. Buddy System Pair every youth with another in the same ability group. This adventure is an elective adventure which can be used to earn the Webelos and Arrow of Light Badges. In this adventure, you have to complete the following requirements. 1. Learn about some basic tools and proper use of each tool. Learn about and understand the need for safety when you work with tools.  At the "Craftsman" station at Day Camp we learned about safety when using tools. We also learned about different types of tools, how to use them the right way and how to be safe when using them. They camp instructors made sure we understood what was safe and how to use the tools before we got the chance to build or burn anything. This adventure is an elective adventure which can be used to earn the Webelos and Arrow of Light Badges. In this adventure, you have to complete all of the requirements. 1. Do the following: a. Explain the meaning of the word "geology."  Jeremiah told me what the meaning of the word on "Geology" was on (6/28/2017) after coming home from Camp Linstead. Moviemaking: Webelos Adventure Complete all Requirements. Requirement 1:   Write a story outline describing a real or imaginary Scouting adventure. (7/3/2017)  Create a pictured storyboard that shows your story. (7/3/2017) Requirement 2:   Create either an animated or live action movie about yourself. Requirement 3:  Share your movie with your family, den, or pack. I showed my family. They thought it was really good. I also showed them another video that my brother and I worked on. This adventure is an elective adventure which can be used to earn the Webelos and Arrow of Light Badges. In this adventure, you have to complete requirements 1-3 and two additional items from section 4. 1. Develop an awareness of the challenges of the blind or visually impaired through participation in an activity that simulates blindness or visual impairment. Alternatively, participate in an activity that simulates the challenges of being def or hard of hearing. This summer I went to day camp. At Camp Linstead there was a lot of stations. One of the stations that we went to was called "Disability Awareness." At this station we used goggles to see what it would be like to have a visual impairment. (6/28/2017) 2. Stronger, Faster, Higher: Webelos Adventure

This adventure is required to earn the Webelos Badge. In this adventure, you have to complete requirements 1-3 and at least one other. 1. Understand and explain why you should warm up before exercising and cool down afterward. (6/05/2017) Demonstrate the proper way to warm up and cool down. I always warm up and cool down during swim meets. I usually get to the swim meets an hour before the meet starts. I will warm up with my teammates and with my coaches help. Maestro: Webelos Adventure

Webelos-AoL Elective Adventure: Maestro! This adventure is an elective adventure which can be used to earn the Webelos and Arrow of Light Badges. To earn this pin you have to complete requirements 1 and 2. I decided to attend a live musical performance with Ernie Bradley and Grassy Ridge  (Bluegrass)  in Columbia, MD on July 8, 2017 . It was free and was held at the Lakefront right next my grandma's favorite store- Whole Foods. You can find a schedule with all of the free events  here . For requirement #2 I decided to make a musical instrument on July 7, 2017 . I made a tambourine out of duct tape, recycled container, and bells from the dollar store. You can use beads, rice, or beans instead of the bells.                       Here's a video of me showing you how to make a tambourine and playing a song . My second choice was to play two tunes: " A Mozart Melody " and " Au Claire de la Lune " on the xylophone (bells)  on July 7, 2017
